Madash
Madash is a Cameroonian artist building an audience across live shows and streaming.
I designed the pressbook used to introduce him to promoters and media — biography, releases, live history and booking details laid out so a programmer can scan it in under a minute and still come away with the image of the artist.
About the client
Madash (Mbama Arnold Darryl, born in Zoétélé in southern Cameroon) is an urban artist signed to E Two Entertainment since January 2022. He has been releasing music since 2020, from “Emmène-moi” to “No Money No Lova”, and played stages such as the Guinness Brighthouse Party at the Bepanda stadium in Douala and the Grand Podium of Ya-Fe in Yaoundé. His pressbook introduces him to promoters, festivals and the media.
What I designed
- A five-page landscape pressbook
- The cover, with his name in gold
- A biography page
- A discography timeline from 2020 to 2025, with a link to each official audio or video
- A “Scènes” page listing his main live shows
- A contact page with his accounts and the label’s
The design choices
Black and gold give the document the feel of a stage at night. The type is a gold serif with a lot of contrast, the artist appears in large cut-out photos, and gold music notes and soft glass panels frame the text.
The detail that makes it easy to use is the navigation bar at the top of each page (Biographie, Discographie, Scènes, Contact), with the current section highlighted, like a website menu. A programmer who receives the PDF on a phone always knows where they are and can jump to what interests them: the music, the live history or the booking number. The discography is a horizontal timeline, one cover per year, so the artist’s progression reads in a single glance.
Where it works
It is built to be sent as a PDF to promoters and journalists and attached to festival applications. It belongs to the same family as the pressbook of Bóris Le Tayrøs, his labelmate.
