About the client

The Cameroon Deaf Resource Centre (Centre de Ressources pour les Personnes Sourdes, CRPSC) is a Deaf-led organisation based in Nkomo, Yaoundé. It works on the barriers faced by an estimated 60,000 Deaf people in Cameroon, a country with very few professional sign language interpreters, by offering services, training, personal support and advocacy.

What I designed

• A bilingual tri-fold brochure, with one version in English and one in French
• The “About CDRC” panel: who they are, their mission and their goals
• The four strategic pillars, each with its own icon
• A “How you can support us” panel and the contact details

The design choices

The brochure is built so that the English and French versions match panel for panel. A French-speaking partner and an English-speaking donor holding the two versions find the same information in the same place, which matters for an organisation working with ministries, NGOs and international funders at the same time.

Green runs through the whole piece, from the cover band to the icon tiles. The four pillars (information and essential services, professional training and economic empowerment, personalised support and social inclusion, institutional advocacy) are laid out as a grid of icon cards so they can be read at a glance. The photos show members of the community signing and working together: the brochure presents Deaf people as actors, not as recipients.

Where it works

The brochure is made for meetings with partners and donors, awareness events and the centre’s reception, and the same file can be shared as a PDF when a meeting moves online.
