P.A.A.D.S
P.A.A.D.S — the Professionals Across African Diaspora Summit — brought speakers together at the Palais des Sports in May 2023 under the theme “Promoting African Progress, Unity and Cooperation”.
I designed the summit’s visual identity for Tchewa Events & Tours: the main poster built on a gold-lit map of the continent and a row of speaker portraits, plus the Gold and Simple ticket tiers and the printed collateral the sponsors appeared on.
About the client
P.A.A.D.S, the Professionals Across African Diaspora Summit, was organised by Tchewa Events & Tours at the Palais des Sports on 13 May 2023, under the theme “Promoting African Progress, Unity and Cooperation”. It brought together professionals and speakers from the continent and the diaspora, with sponsors from beauty, retail, services and travel.
What I designed
- The summit’s visual identity
- The main poster, with the row of speakers
- Individual speaker posters
- The sponsor backdrop for the red carpet
- Two ticket tiers: Gold at 30,000 FCFA and Simple at 15,000 FCFA, each with a QR code
- Printed collateral carrying the sponsor logos
The design choices
The map of Africa is the summit’s signature. It glows in gold and doubles as the first letter of “P.A.A.D.S”, so the name and the continent are one shape. Black and gold set a formal, evening-event tone that suits a professional summit, and the speakers are shown in a single row of portraits, which says “panel” before you read a word.
The tickets keep the poster’s look but are built for the door: the event, date, time and venue on the left, the tier and price printed large and vertically on the stub, and a QR code for checking. The Gold ticket gets a solid gold stub, so staff can tell the two tiers apart from across the room.
Where it works
The main poster works on social media and in print, the speaker posters let each guest promote their own appearance, and the backdrop gives sponsors and guests their photo moment on the red carpet.
